"First
Days"
Out
we would go to the store or to eat,
And people would coo over you.
They'd say "How perfectly
darling your little one is"
And we'd smile and say,
"Yes, we know… thank you."
"He
looks just like you, I can see,"
They'd gaze at us and offer their congrats.
"And look! You're already out of the house,
And you don't even look fat!"
There
were times we just offered our thanks,
and smiled and left things unsaid.
But other times we wanted to explain,
"Adoption is much more than you've read."
"Our
baby is a little piece of heaven,
Sent down to us through a route
that is simply amazing,
He's loved by so many, God is so good,
We're praising Him about this
